Over the centuries, humanity has awoken from chaos or sunk into it. History whispers to us of a cycle that constantly shifts from triumphant climaxes to devastating collapses. Over time, we have been like Sisyphus pushing the boulder up the mountain, only to have it roll back down just before the summit. But the soul of humanity has evolved and become stronger. Every era has brought new insights and progress has accelerated.

We are now in an era where we are collectively awakening to a conscious life in harmony with the earth. The painting *Renewed Awakening* depicts exactly this time. The male and female figures float in the air. He majestically and firmly holds the space of love in which she floats, dances and expresses herself. Her expression is gentle, loving and elegant and is expressed in every part of her body. They represent the male-female relationship and the masculine and feminine aspects within ourselves. The harmony of understanding and feeling for the roles between the characters is key. She can't be He, because that would violate her dominant nature, which would lead to disharmony. Light emanates from his chest, illuminating her and the entire group on the floor. The floating beauty is bathed in love and the group is enveloped in light, like the spring sun that awakens nature after a cold winter. She awakens them, for this is their path. His eyes, focussed on her solar plexus, reflect her light. She is his inspiration and he is her safe place.

The painting consists of two parts. The figures floating triumphantly above the chaos in harmony and love, and the lower group lying like seeds on the ground, slowly awakening — some already sprouting, others still asleep, and some resisting change and light.
