The process of creating each artwork teaches me new aspects of transcendence beyond the known. I dedicate my life to the poetic expression of my interpretations of the various facets of this universe — those that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
My tools and language to express these observations are abstract forms, lines, light and shadow, textures and colours. The techniques I use have been tried and tested for centuries by generations of great painters. To the modern eye, they may resemble a familiar representation through contemporary technologies.
I have visions that are filtered through my imagination, my experiences, observations and knowledge and are transformed into paintings on canvas where I alone determine what is conveyed to the viewer."

Born 1990 in Celje, Slovenia; currently lives in Ljubljana. Award-winning master painter Nik Anikis, who began his artistic journey in early childhood, is recognised as a Neo-Renaissance painter.
He explores the majestic beauty of the human body and nature, harmony and disharmony, light and darkness. The seductive beauty of the human form holds the potential to express the poetry of emotion and truth.
He is known for his pursuit of technical perfection and his mastery of classical painting techniques, which he skilfully enriches with elements of imaginative painting and reflections on relationships, struggles and contrasts in the intimate depths of the human soul.
He has participated in exhibitions throughout Europe and the United States.
